“LA Virgin features photographic artworks by Johnny Nicoloro.  Johnny creates in-camera multi-exposed images of the Virgin Mary found throughout Los Angeles with neighborhood imagery from East L.A. to West Hollywood to Venice Beach. With a recent installment in the National Geographic Magazine’s July 2009 issue, Johnny brings an ethnographic eye to the devotedly embraced icon found within the Latino communities of Los Angeles.   Born and bred in the Los Angeles area, Johnny originated his series on a drive through Korea Town where he saw an image of the Virgin Mary next to a Coca-Cola sign.” For more info, go to Lot 44 Coffee Gallery’s website.
